Comparative Genomics
Tackling the vast amount of genomic information is no
easy task - we will continue to push the envelopes of
existing research at the forefront of genomic analyses
and also pioneer fresh approaches to study genomes and
proteomes. The emphasis will be on combining computational
and experimental approaches to provide unique resources
that are freely available to the entire biomedical community.
Comparison of genes and proteins from humans, mouse, rat,
dog, frog, cow, worm, fruitfly and fish genomes for identification
of genes and regulatory sequences and to establish syntenic
relationships. We also plan to validate genes that are
predicted in the human genome by laboratory experiments.
cDNAs obtained from such experiments will be made freely
available to researchers.
